The Career Development Centre offers employers strategic access to Macquarie students and graduates throughout the calendar year excluding public holidays.

Graduate and Student Employment

The Career Development Centre through its graduate recruitment programs and advertising positions service enables employers to target the following groups:

  • Final year students for graduate positions to commence on completion of their studies.
  • Penultimate year students for vacation employment, clerkships and practical work experience.
  • Recent graduates (of up to 9 months) for graduate employment.
  • Students at any stage of their study for part-time/casual & volunteer employment.

Students at all level of study are able to access the Career Development Centre website for information on employment, training and other career related information.

The Career Development Centre does not in any way involve itself in selecting or recommending individual students for particular employers or vacancies.

Employers using the Career Development Centre are advised to comply with the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Act 1986.

Advertising Vacancies on CareerHub

All job advertisements submitted must comply with Commonwealth and NSW Law. Only genuine employment opportunities will be advertised.

When you log a position on CareerHub you will be required to supply the following:

Employer Details:

  • Name of business
  • ABN (if applicable)
  • Details of employer contact
  • Postal & street address
  • Business phone number
  • Website (if applicable)
  • Email address
  • Nature & size of business

Job Details:

  • Title of position
  • Remuneration (please enter a numeric figure or range otherwise the job will not be approved. A minimum hourly rate of $12 applies, except for non-profit and volunteer organisations)
  • Hours worked per week
  • Location
  • Tasks to be undertaken
  • Responsiblities in the position
  • Skills/Experience required for the position
  • A Contact person or email
  • Application procedures & closing date

The Career Development Centre (CDC) reserves the right to decline an advertisement if it does not meet these Codes of Practice & Policies or is deemed unsuitable for our students. We also reserve the right to withdraw any advertisements.

Graduate Recruitment Activities

Graduate Recruitment activities are held during the academic year only, avoiding university holidays and examination periods.

The Career Development Centre reserves the right to decline or limit a particular on-campus activity proposed by an employer.

The Career Development Centre reserves the right to decline participation in our Graduate Recruitment Programs to any company or organisation, which we consider inappropriate, or which does not conform to our guidelines & policies. Employers should also familiarise themselves with the policy on Third Party Recruitment (PDF) .

The Career Development Centre reserves the right to decline to distribute or display any company publicity material that we consider inappropriate, or which does not conform to our guidelines.

Employers are expected to adhere to all arrangements confirmed with the Career Development Centre or to contact us regarding any changes that may be required.
We invite employers to treat our students with courtesy and maintain confidentiality throughout the recruitment process.
